A part of the Stephen Hawking message beamed to a Black Hole... "We are all time travelers caring together into the future, but let us work together to make that future a place we want to visit. Be brave, be determined overcome the odds. That can be done."

Logistics 2020- three DC areas.

We are collecting data and continue marketing to people and businesses along the driving routes to and from these stores. These stores are ideal exchange points for the exchange of merchandise destined for more distant points.

This way will be able to do same day deliveries to customers throughout DC.

If we do this right, we can be more convenient and cost effective than going to the store for yourself.

What would you call yourselves?   Is there a better name other than delivery drivers or personal shoppers?

You are more like a friendly shop keeper,  a more trusted and better known individual than a delivery person.  You can develop a client base you know well.  See yourselves as independent shopkeepers that build a business, and see other drivers as partners working to build a far larger business.   You should see marketing and the customer relation staff as people that work for you, to build your business.

First Delivery Report

We have now ten people that said they would drive for us.  But only a couple are active at all, others waiting for "Show me the Money", who could blame them.

I called a few restaurants about selling their menu for delivery, a couple of salons about having them network sales, Marc which we could not hire suggested Costco as a supplier, and  Safeway, Giant, Lidl, and Aldi  - either will not respond or can not be contacted. (see comments)

Created a list of "Producers from Lancaster to Washington - DC"  to see if we could source food directly. Carey said he could make a run to the markets in Jessup and distribute to our drivers.  Found out yesterday about PACA, and noticed there are impediments for small distributors getting into the food business.

Nonetheless, the next step is to apply to all these distributors and find other products that can be distributed to, churches, restaurants, and individuals. Products will be placed on our catalog, where we can all collaborate to find the best source and price,  by commenting on the products on the catalog, you can tell us what the current price at the store is  so we can compare. Right now we only have some prices from Aldi and Costco and of course these change and we would like to know when that occurs.

Report - End of November 2019 to January 2020

Atlanta - June 13-26 -2019

From our original proposal which began with an ad placed on Craigslist in late April of  2019, we attracted a few participants. We then changed our focus from a storage business to a service oriented business and began looking for a partner that would work from the Timmons Circle property.

We found our first applicant  for the Timmons property and I made a trip to Atlanta  (May 24-26) to make an agreement ,only to find out that what I had been told was not true. This was a waisted effort and trip.

We returned to Georgia, payed back property taxes. and met with two applicants for the Timmons Cir Property, from a Craigslist post, this time about building a B&B.
