Logistics 2020- three DC areas.
Forums:
By comparison to where you three are located, Columbia heights area appears to have the most business.
For food we would simply shop at Costco and Aldi, they have great prices and have no locations in Columbia heights.
We are collecting data and continue marketing to people and businesses along the driving routes to and from these stores. These stores are perfect exchange points where to pass on cargo and merchandise destined for more distant points.
This way will be able to do same day deliveries to customers throughout DC.
If we do this right, we can be more convenient and cost effective than going to the store for yourself.
What would you call yourselves? Is there a better name other than delivery drivers or personal shoppers?
You are more like a friendly shop keeper, a more trusted and better known individual than a delivery person. You can develop a client base you know well. See yourselves as independent shopkeepers that build a business, and see other drivers as partners working to build a far larger business. You should see marketing and the customer relation staff as people that work for you, to build your business.

The sector from DC to Waldorf has potential for local business trying to reach a broader client base into the central DC market area. Waldorf has its own Aldi and Costco certainly has the same potential for the service. Carey has a great looking van and should be filled with work at this time, none the less we can build up his customer base. It may be that an interconnected combination of van - car- and bike will be our ultimate tool set for delivery set of tools.
The most efficient way may be to have a shopper at each of the stores filling orders and bagging them, coordinated with a van or car that comes to pick up several orders, then delivers to customers, or to other drivers for redistribution into other sectors.
