Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW)

CREW uses the law as a tool to hold public officials and politicians accountable for unethical and illegal behavior and to bring improper conduct to the public’s attention. When we find abuses of campaign finance, ethics, tax, and other rules, CREW files complaints asking appropriate government agencies to investigate. If those agencies don’t do their jobs, we file lawsuits to compel them to enforce the law and to bring about broad legal changes to misinterpretations of the law by courts and agencies. CREW also uses document requests and related lawsuits to uncover misconduct and ensure openness and transparency in government.
